Job Shift:            Day 8:30am - 5pm



DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:        

Truck Driver Helpers ride in company vehicles and assist Drivers in providing courteous and complete Ranch Community Store donation pick-up service for customers on a designated route. The Driver Helper is responsible for safely loading all donated products, including but not limited to:  bags, furniture, containers, and trash.  Our culture assumes we can count on one another, engage with respect and professionalism, and continue our exceptional tradition of serving the public and our partners through teamwork and cooperation.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer Service – Provide consistent, excellent customer service to the public, partners, management, and customers.
  • Safety – Maintain safe operation of all company vehicles in compliance with The Ranch Community Store's Vehicle Policy; perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of assigned vehicle in accordance with company policy; immediately utilize standard procedure to report safety issues; coordinate with the Logistics Manager to complete all repairs/service necessary on company vehicles.
  • Logistics – Complete assigned routes to empty partner bins; ensure all routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner; monitor bin locations for evidence of unacceptable partner practices or dumping, and notify supervisor as needed; clean area around bin locations; availability to perform random pick-ups as directed by the Logistics Manager; assist with unloading of product when necessary.
  • Teamwork – work collaboratively and with a high degree of flexibility with the Logistics Manager and Truck Driver(s) to accomplish logistical goals; provide feedback as requested and participate in the creation and execution of new initiatives for the express purpose of increasing efficiency and safety.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to pass post-offer, pre-employment physical lift and drug test
  • Minimum of six months experience working in a warehouse/labor position a plus
  • DOT certification or the ability to obtain one preferred
  • Scheduling flexibility and evenings and weekend availability
  • Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
